Spotted Lantern Fly - Plant’s Number 1 Enemy

Spotted lanternflies have emerged as a significant concern for gardeners and farmers alike. These invasive insects, with their eye-catching appearance, pose a serious threat to various plant species, including fruit trees, and hardwoods. Originating from China, spotted lanternflies have quickly spread across several states within the United States. With their ability to reproduce rapidly and their lack of natural predators, these pests can wreak havoc on crops and cause considerable economic losses. Identifiable by their vibrant red wings with black spots, the adults feed on the sap of plants, weakening them and making them susceptible to disease. Controlling the spread of spotted lanternflies is of utmost importance to preserve the health and vitality of our gardens and natural habitats.
